Daniel Lantz, VMD, MS, DACVR is an expert in canine and feline diagnostics. He also has an extensive background in emergency veterinary medicine. His background includes:

  • VMD, University of Pennsylvania (2013)
  • Emergency & Critical Care experience at referral centers including:
    • Penn Vet’s Ryan Veterinary Hospital
    • Red Bank Veterinary Hospital (Tinton Falls, NJ)
    • Metropolitan Veterinary Associates (Norristown, PA)
  • Diagnostic Imaging Residency, The Ohio State University (2019–2022)
  • Master of Science in Veterinary Sciences, The Ohio State University (2022)
  • Diplomate, American College of Veterinary Radiology (2022)
  • First Radiologist at Garden State Veterinary Specialists in New Jersey

Daniel Lantz, VMD, MS, DACVR​

Board-Certified Veterinary Radiologist & Founder, Pons Veterinary Imaging

Dr. Daniel Lantz is dedicated to bringing advanced diagnostic clarity directly to primary care practices. A native of Northeastern Pennsylvania, Dr. Lantz returned to his home region to launch Pons Veterinary Imaging, a mobile service designed to empower local veterinarians with high-level imaging and expert interpretations.

A Passion for All Species

While Dr. Lantz is an expert in canine and feline diagnostics, he holds a deep-seated passion for exotic and wildlife imaging. His background includes:

  • Zoo & Wildlife Collaboration: An internship at the Philadelphia Zoo and continued collaboration with the Essex County Turtleback Zoo.
  • Specialized Training: Mentorship during his residency focused specifically on the unique diagnostic needs of zoo inhabitants.
  • Broad Experience: From pocket pets like guinea pigs and hedgehogs to avian and reptilian patients, Dr. Lantz provides a full-spectrum diagnostic approach for all creatures great and small.


Personal Life

When he isn’t behind a monitor or performing an ultrasound, Dr. Lantz is an avid traveler and explorer. He and his wife, Rebecca (a veterinary neurologist), share a deep love for the natural world, highlighted by a memorable safari in Africa. He is a lifelong learner who remains inspired by the animal kingdom—from his favorite animal, the capybara, to the family dogs at home.
